Pity about the no show of the Lanc and Spitfires, British weather can even effect this forums meets!

I would though like to thank Pingu for organising this trip and putting in the effort. Both me and my Dad enjoyed the day including the mini cruise prior to Coningsby.

We all had a laugh especially when we met up and Pingu mistook Zed Carer as being my Dad    I don't think Zed Carer  as much as me though :) or should I call him Dad Carer :)

Anyway nice to see familiar faces and meet Pete59 :)

A few pics...

Thank you, Gary for organisinf the day, was good to meet you and to see your Zed, great to see Zed Carer & Jamezee again and to chat to Jamezee's Dad. Pete59, didn't we need that hot coffee! Hope you have a good holiday. :-bd
Shame about not seeing the BBMF, ironic as it would have been apparently been better to pop up the road to Duxford 8-|
Will put pics on later. :)

Thanks to Gary for orgainsing - nice to meet up with everyone.

Unfortunately as Pete59 commented some of the roads were a bit bumpy and I've now got a bit of a Problem

Hopefully my new "son" will soon be dashing over the Pennines to help sort my problem out. :D

All fixed :D

Left the car with Bankside Garage in Leeds yesterday and they welded the bracket with seam wealds both sides. It looks as if a least one, and possibly 2, of the original 4 spot welds had not fully penetrated the cross member so not too bad that it had lasted almost 13 years. The price was quite reasonable - £66 (incl VAT). We agreed to seam weald it as it looked to be the stronger option and to replace the spot welds would have required removal of the rear bumper to get access.

Been outside since 7:20am whilst the drive is in the shade washing and waxing so going out shortly :D

Euro fighters
Good lord, have we got some now? Or did we borrow them for the pictures :-\
We've got quite a few (~80) and several squadrons. They're combat proven now too - if you look closely you'll see some bomb silhouettes painted on the ones that saw active service over Libya.

At last I managed to get my Dad to see the Lancaster in flight after the no show at Conningsby
We were treated to a number of fly pasts by the Spitfire, Lancaster and Tornado today at Chatsworth....brilliant
The last time my Dad saw one in flight was in the very early 50's when he was in the raf :)
