I'm in the US and purchased my last one at Costco, a fine example of "Interstate" batteries retailed by Costco.

I bought a S5 008 Bosch Car Battery 12V 77Ah Type 096 S5008 - 12 - 5 Years - L278 x W175 x H190m for my ///M two years ago from battery megastore £70 delivered next working day best check your dimensions and shop about.

It’s been in the mini since last summer as the original oem Varta I thought was getting a bit tired but back in service after a smart charge so not bad for 12 years use.

Euro Car Parts, there's always one pretty close. Put your reg in and you get a choice of 3 or 4 at different price levels

I use Tayna Batteries. Wide choice of makes, keenly priced and next day delivery.

thanks had a browse but they offer 60a and 70a for the z3 assume a 70a best.

thanks for the replies assume its a 70a battery ? as some says 60a ? being and import the battery is in japanese cant see a rating 😆 also has a vapour pipe connected to it is that redundant with a new battery ?

Usually sealed batteries do not have vapour pipes. Only the old ones.

Check your local motor factor, I did and got Bosch S4-007 for £76 a few years ago. Halfords, ECP etc were way more expensive at the time for equivalent battery.

Sealed or not, wet cell lead acid batteries will have a vapour pipe connection, dry cell types will not.
