Not somebody on Zorg I'm sure but, a white Z4 (probably an E89) overtook a neighbour in Nuneaton this morning - so close it broke the mirror on his bike and tore his high viz jacket. Didn't stop. Will try and get a partial Reg but want them identifying. They need a talking to!
Anybody know any white Z4s around here?

Made contact and caused damage.

So that's leaving the scene of an accident.

Contact the police with the time, day, location, and if they can be bothered they will look at CCTV in the area to id the car.

There is no CCTV around there - it's residential. Am afraid the police round here don't give a t*ss. You're asked to fill out a 15 page form that might if you're lucky get investigated. I gave them footage of someone deliberately driving over a path that was 15' away from the road - no action. The usual problem of identifying the driver. Just charge all the insured drivers until one coughs.

Lucky your friend only had the mirrorbroken and jacket torn. Could have been sooo much worse! Hope they find the bas:;;d. JIM

Indeed. Whoever it was overtook to get through the traffic calming in the road first. Saved all of two seconds on their journey - how stupid does that make them. Sadly it's all too common.

Not just a UK problem Ian. Same things here and everywhere there are people with no regard for others safety. Have had to kick in a few doors over the years of biking to wake a few drivers and get their attention. Also ridden a few curbs to avoid getting hit. I have friends that wear a chain belt and just smash windows if they're encroached upon. I prefer denting doors personally. JIM

I don't ride my pushbike on the road anymore, you're just too vulnerable.

I got taken off a year ago by a council van, luckily not hurt, but made me realise that your life could end so easily.

I still ride a motorbike, but that enables you to keep up with the traffic and dominate your lane so drivers can't push you into the kerb, so a little safer.

May give that up soon also, so many drivers going along, smartphone in hand, looking down rather than at the road.

However experienced one is on a motorbike you cannot prevent someone driving into the back of you because they're not looking where they're going.

Something must be done about the phone thing, it's costing too many lives.
