When I picked my new Z4 up on the 5th of this month some lunatic had stuck a very cheap nasty imitation Msport badge on the boot!!!!!.

Can anyone help and tell me how to get the damn thing off the car without damaging the paintwork please? Its seems to be stuck on with some white double sided tape?

You can add some heat with a hair dryer and it should soften the adhesive and you should be able to pull it off with out much issue it will not have been there long enough to leave a mark but if there is it should polish out.

Had one on mine. Some gentle heat and it will prise off. If you need to lever it to pull it away use something like a credit card against the paint to protect it and lever against that.
The double sided tape can be stubborn. Some will likely get left behind but it will easily come off.

Wash with warm soapy water and then polish out any final residual adhesive.
You'll never know it was there.

Btw. That's a nice car. Looks like a 3.0L

Try using tooth floss to slice between the badge and body, it worked for me. No chance causing any damage to paintwork.

Could lose the Z4 badge at the same time? I recently removed my Z3 one and it cleans up the back end no end, IMO of course.:)

Boil the kettle. Pour it on the badge and slowly peel. Did it last week on my focus. No damage whatsoever.

Just be careful that the corner of the badge doesn't damage the paint if you lift one side first.

It's in for its brake fluid change next week. Now as I am paying the nice people at BMW £118.60 to change the fluid , what do you think the chances are that they will do it for me FREE OF CHARGE? or am I being silly now?

I wouldn't want a garage to do this job when it is easily done by self, free or otherwise. Just needs care and attention to detail.:)

You could use sticker remover to get the double sided tape off, and then send what you have left over to @t-tony ....;)

Nope, funnily enough it was a focus badge. Don't like any badges on my cars, never have. The Zed hasnt got any either.

My zed doesn't either. Creates an air of mystery!

I did however count 27 badges and decals on the Freelander though

But forgive my stupidity, don't I have to get the badge off first before messing with the double sided tape? Oh and whos Tony?
