I need to replace the tyres on the zed and have had a few suggestions from fellow zed mates and think I've settled on Avon ZZ5's. I can't afford top end stuff so thought these look a decent choice in the mid range price bracket. Is anyone running these or have in the past?
Answers on a post card please ;)

Hi Dave we have the Avons on our Zed and pleased with them. The kids have had them on previous cars and no complaints.
Owned by Cooper tyres USA company

Forgot to say, I’m using a staggered fitment of 225/35/18 front and 255/30/18 rear

Hi @Grumps . Have these on mine. Very pleased with them. Have chosen Avon tyres for a number of cars in the past and have never come across issues. Definitely worth serious consideration

Heard good things about Avon’s.
I’ve had Hankook Ventura V12 and been very pleased with grip and wear and they are similar price bracket if not less?

Those Avon’s are a good price.

I've used Avons on quite a few cars and have always been happy with them. Apparently at one time they were the only tyres specced by Rolls Royce

I put Avon ZV7s on the front last year to match the ZV5s on the back which had been discontinued. Very happy with them and a very good all round tyre. Grippy in all conditions and quiet. More than adequate for general road use. According to the Avon website, the ZZ series have slightly better dry performance compared to the ZVs, whereas the ZVs are slightly more durable/hard wearing. Wet performance, tyre noise, and handling are the same.

Cost £150 for the pair from Blackcircles which included delivery to and fitting at a local Honda dealer. Thought that was pretty decent:thumbsup:

Have you worn out your tyres or have they aged too much=))=))=))

I'm running Hankook Ventus ATM, same sort of price to the Avons, very pleased with them;)

I can’t say about the Avon’s but was a tight budget at the time and Falkens were quite good for the price might be worth considering price of rearsfor yours https://alltyres365.co.uk/Tyre/car/...MIkfae1dnD4AIVbrHtCh0D9AUcEAQYAyABEgJCnfD_BwE
I'm on falkens now Mark and they have been fine but I have had some tramlining issues although the car is sat on 18's. When we overhauled the rear beam and all the suspension it did improve massively so I'm hoping a change of tyre brand will loose the last bit.

£113 a corner on the rears @Dr Wong, the fronts come in at £150 a pair for the ZZ5's which I think is a good price.

Thanks for all the feedback chaps. I like what I've heard so I'm going to go with the Avons. Going to get the rears on next week and the fronts on next month.

Bit of both Dave to be honest. They are 6 years old and done 13500 miles, so they are aging now but they've scrubbed on the inner edges on all 4.

Watching with interest as all four on mine will about be ready for changing at the same time.
The Hankooks that are on now are very good but when I replaced just the rear ones, the price had gone up quite a bit to £230 supplied and fitted at a local dealer.
