So last weekend decided to get on with September run so went out for the weekend to recce the potential routes and stops for the 2 days.

When we do the actual runs i get nowhere to stop for pictures as there is a large group of us so nice sometimes on a recce to get rhe chance to stop for a minute somewhere.
So just going to load this thread with the pictures I took over the weekend
On the Friday i picked Lynne up from school when she was finished and headed up to Pitlochry where we were staying at the Hydro for the Friday and Saturday ( decided to take the zed as the threat of snow over the weekend had lessened) as it was mid afternoon on a Friday still had Glasgow to go through and had dinner booking decided to take the direct route
A77 to M77 to M73 to M80 then M9 but we made really good time so cut off M9 to take scenic route to Pitlochry via Crieff so stopped for a couple of pictures on way to hotel.

Pitlochry average height above sea level is 387ft the first stop the following day on the recce is 2132ft so was hoping to be dodging the showers Saturday especially.

So here I am finally getting round to doing this 🥴.

Recce day 2 few less pictures as had a bit less time as we weren't staying at the hotel on the Sunday night we were doing the full Sunday route which would take us back to the hotel then straight down the road.
So the day 2 route is a run round Perthshire the heart of Scotland.
So setting off from the hotel our first scenery stop is only 8 miles away we will stop at Queens View for photo op of the spectacular views over Loch Tummel to the mountains beyond ( on the recce visitors centre closed) so pictures taken from a mile or so up the road.

Then from Queens View we will be heading to Fortingall.
Hoping church service isnt on that week (dont have one every Sunday) so we can get parked so i can take you all to see a tree.
But not just any old tree going to see the Fortingall yew tree ( the oldest living thing in uk and one of the oldest living things in Europe conservative estimates put it at 3-5000 yrs old but some have it as old as 5-9000 yrs old)

(Trees on left of church building the one closest to the building is the yew tree 🌳.
From Fortingall we will grive the short distance to Loch Tay where our first official coffee stop will be.
From Loch Tay we will across towards Dunkeld through some spectacular scenery

Lunch stop is still undecided was going to be Dunkeld but when we got there on the recce really struggled to find anywhere to park ( never mind trying to part 15 cars) got couple of things in the pipeline will firm up before posting up final routes.

From our lunch stop we will travel east through Blairgowrie to Linn Reekie Falls for a picture op if we can get parked. Then from there a short 5 min drive to the afternoon stop at Peel Farm farm shop.
