Guys I am useless when it comes to reading electric maps and wondered if someone could point me in the right direction of the feed for the interior light, I actually want the one that is triggered by the remote so that I can redirect it to the boot, thanks in advance.

If I remember right when I fitted my footwell lights many moons ago I found the interior light supply from what they call the body computer which is located behind the glovebox, it had three plugs and a yellow one springs to mind, just go round with a multimeter. Sorry I didn't write it down at the time.

I'm looking to get the feed from the remote light source to an actuator in the boot so the lid pops open when I press the light button on the remote,

behind your glove box is the ZKE unit with 3 plugs. Black, Yellow, Green. (yellow may be changed to a purple plug on facelift)

On the left hand side is a black plug which is X13252 connection
You will need to link in to terminal 4, which is the Brown/Black wire. (Bottom row of plug 4th from right) This outputs +4 to +12 volts giving the brightening/dimming result.

If it needs +12v only, you could wire a relay in line to stop the brightening effect.
The only problem with what you are doing is that everytime you open a door the boot will unlock as the lights come on. Unless you disable the door switches.

What are you trying to achieve?
That looks like a big help thanks mate, I am planning on removing the boot lock and fitting an actuator so I can open the boot via the light on button on the remote.

It's a great idea Sean but I dont think the trip you want will be a wire outside that box. It's the same supply it's just switched a different way inside the box.

But it has to supply power to the bulb to light it

Now I may be wrong and it needs testing with a meter, but I think the light output from the remote module is the `Brown/Red/Yellow wire which goes into the ZKE unit as input pin 1, (bottom right on the green connector.)

If this inputs12v to the ZKE when the light button on the remote is pressed, (check with a meter) that would be the wire you need to link into, to send through to the boot and operate your solenoid. And that would not get 12v when a door is opened. as they are on the other connections.

Or equally it could be used to close the roof, or close/open the windows......

Now we're on the right line? Looking at the gauge of the wiring from the remote receiver in the interior mirror I doubt it's going to 12v?
