HI new to forum so hope I am in the right section. Question. Is there a significant difference between single and double vanos and should I consider one over the other when buying my 2.8/3.0 all help appreciated

Not a massive difference in everyday driving, the double vanos will have more low down torque. The biggest difference between the 2.8 and 3.0 is the body shape the 2.8s were wide bums and the 3.0 were facelift (or but lift bums) if you prefer one shape over the other then this may help sway your preference.

That's great thanks. I am about to make my decision any day now as have been reorganising the garage to make room.

The 3.0 will cost you a lot more to buy than the 2.8. After the M they are the most sought after. All round the 3.0 is the car to go for. We had one before our Z4 and they are very quick.
