Hi can any one tell me is there any way to check if the ASC control is working on my car. I have pressed the button which I assume should light up green but it dose not. I’m also not certain the system is working at all. I know what it’s supposed to do but again how can I find out if it is. Please don’t just say press the button and go for a drive, as I’ve already stuffed the front this week, which is why I don‘t think it’s working. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Press the button and go for a test drive!

hope that helps!
Not really Andy, you just trying to sell me more parts lol. I have pushed that switch before and there is no green light plus I found no difference in how it drives. But that dose not mean it’s working or not. What dose it switch on or off and is there a test that can tell me If it’s even connected.

ASC controls the rear wheels spinning on acceleration , I stand to be corrected but I think that i t is to control wheel spin on acceleration on different surfaces ( greasy or loose clippings ect ) , to test find a long layby and light up the rear wheels and see what happens ,I think it working the green light will flash , when safe to do so

So the green light dose not stay on permanent after pressing the switch ?. Would you know how it works, is it on the brake sensors ?.

The button does not light up - the indication is in the centre of the instrument cluster - does that light up on start-up checks?
Edit - may vary with different years - my comment applies to 1998 and earlier.

On mine if i press the asc button it lights up the symbol on the dash. It means it is turned off. When on the dash light illuminates only when it is active. Normally when accelerating on a poor surface

Press the button and its turned off and the dash light will be permanently illuminated, if it activates during driving when a loss of traction or stability is sensed it will work automatically and the dash light will flash during operation.
