My 98 1.9 recently purchased has what I think poor brakes as a lot of pedal pressure is required to effect a quick stop.
Discs are very good, pads have about 6mm on them but are old as car had been stored for 4 years and I estimate they are 8+ years old.
Servo seems good as when car started with foot on brake pedal the pedal drops about an inch.
Is this a characteristic of this model? or what else should I look at. {it has recently passed its mot but tester could have stood on pedal]
