Aviation Anyone shed any light?

Just had two "V" formations of what I assume were some sort of fighter jets fly straight over the top of our house. 8 in total. The noise was incredible. Jue s*** herself lol! Any of you aviation doods any idea what they'd be up to?

amassing things these modern aircraft, a couple of years ago (according to the paper) a copper was out doing some speed checking (trapping), he pointed his radar at an approaching car and got a reading of over 800 mph, turns out he clocked a eurofighter doing exercises over the north sea. this aircraft detected this signal and recognised it as hostile, it has the ability (as the local bobby found out) to send its own signal to the source of this perceived unfriendly signal and jam it then it locked its missiles onto the source. seems this aircraft is intelligent enough to recognise who is friend and who is foe
