Anyone riding on run flats?

I'm interested in a set of mv3 wheels that will be coming with near new Yokohama 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 run flats. My 1 series has 18" wheels with run flats but also msport suspension and the ride is rather harsh. I was wondering if anyone else was riding on run flats and what are they like?

I re fitted these on my car the other night, only 17" (25/47x17) can't wait to get my 18's back on with new non-run flat tyres. Horrid things.

The wheels are ok but the tyres aren't. My 108's are getting a refurb and then will need new tyres before going back on, hopefully next spring. These will be my winter setup and will get cheaper standard tyres as and when.

I can see absolutely no reason why run flats wouldn't ruin the ride to the same level on a Z3, but possibly worse. They are probably the most sensitive cars for tyre choice I've ever owned.

There is very little give in the walls of rft's.

You'll be putting more energy through those into what is a body that has little stiffness compared to Z4s. Hope it doesn't result in not just a harsh ride but also making the car twitchy on poor roads.
RFTs on 17" wheels are way more comfortable.

They're bad news as far as I'm concerned.

I've never heard anyone have a good word for the ride.

When I got a puncture on my 3GT it drove awful and the side walls just didn't do much of a job anyway. The whole point of them is to help out in that situation.

Continental Contiseals are a much better idea. But they seem to be the Betamax of tyres. They are self sealing up to a 4mm puncture. I had them on my Alhambra and they were excellent.
