Ha, great to see consistency in the build then Tony...notHi Dave, in my car I just select the normal "indicator on" position with no key in.

I blame that @the Nefyn cat for this.Ha, great to see consistency in the build then Tony...not![]()

Trust mine to be different knowing my luck its several different cars bodged together,it is strange though, why would you need parking lights on the near side ? You have to park the car facing the 'flow' of traffic. And its suprising how much interest this thread has generated .That is strange Steve, I wonder why that might be, unless there could be an ECU setting which was applied at the factory maybe. I wonder if anyone out there does know?
Tony.
Hi Tony, Oh... I have done all that. The turn signal control in my car has no such function. Thanks for the cool explanation though!Hi Rudy, always the difference between both of our use of English. The main thing is to remove the ignition key and put it in your trouser pocket. Next, move the turn signal lever to either the right or left position and check to see if the front and rear parking lights illuminate on one side of the car only. Hope that makes sense.

After reading Cooper's post i'v had a proper look at mine....same as cooper's.Didn't realise you have to push the indicator stem past the usual point...thanks CooperJust tested my 2002 2.2 and it works for both sides! But under these conditions: Do not leave the key in the ignition.
01. Push the indicator stalk to the left , then push it a bit further, it will have a strong 'spring' resistance then jump back into the left hand indication selection - the left hand side parking lights remain on,
02. Push the indicator stalk to the right, then push it a bit further it will have a strong 'spring' resistance then jump back into the right hand indication selection- the right hand side parking lights remain on,
It is not possible to have the left and the right on at the same time. I suppose this allows you to put the lights on the side that face the traffic no matter which way you park.
That's the Cooper Report for tonight. Drive safely.
That's what I said in my post as wellDidn't realise you have to push the indicator stem past the usual point...
