As topic says just wondering if anyone runs torque app on their car with an obd dongle elm327 bluetooth or wifi...?

I have a cable elm327 but thinking on getting a wireless / bluetooth one and setting up permanent inside the car for fuel consumption and other diagnostics...

I use a WI-FI dongle as my devices are Apple and they don't work on Blue-tooth. Only use it as a temporary setup. Have noticed that the dongle gets hot after a long run with it working.

If I was going to setup a permanent system ,would probably buy another ODBII socket off a wrecked Z3, wiring it up inside the under dash panels in parallel with the existing one and use a hard wire cable from the hidden socket to the display device.

i dont currently have an obd socket under the dash so use and adaptor plug under the engine bay i pretty sure i can solder up a more permanent solution, under bonnet and hopefully the bluetooth would reach in to the car.. thats an initial idea anyway... i have seen a few arduino solutions to this too with a lcd screen mounted inside the car as this would be a permanent fixture too. more research needs to be done for now i think...

I have used one and it works fine, the torque app works great though not left it plugged in all the time because it was in my Alfa all the time and I had my phone on the dash and used it to display boost and the temps ect I have read about lots of people using them with android head units that's can display the info using torque or and be used as a satnav/stereo ect
