does anyone have any good recommendations/videos for car polishing?I have some hairline scratches and would like to attempt to remove them.
From what I understand I need to get a random orbital polisher/buffer..... As well the solutions?

Any tips would be appreciated....they are only hairline scratches nothing serious...

Before you eventually start clean it properly and clay bar, if you pick up the slightest bit of grit with a polisher you'll be in tears. Ask me how I know!

Whatever you hear, do not try it on your Z.
practice on a beater or even better buy a used part from a scrapyard and experiment.
novice mistakes cost way too much.

There are plenty of useful advice videos on YouTube but youre given good advice, test your prowess on something that doesn't matter.

Tony.

Just had mine done professionally last week. Multi step paint correction and ceramic coating. He did a fantastic job on the paint correction. It looks better than new. Hopefully the coating will help keep it nice.

Meguiar's site has lots of videos in the how to section. https://www.meguiars.co.uk/how-to/

Wash car, then clay bar the car to remove all contamination from the paint - This will show even more scratches that the dirt was hiding!

A DAS 6 V2 random orbit polisher is cheaper compared to others. With a hard pad and cutting compound you can remove some scratches, swirls etc. Firmer pads are for cutting/polishing and softer pads are for wax application. You get a firm and a soft pad with the DAS6.

If you can feel the scratch in the clear coat with your nail, you'll probably need to sand out with 2000-3000 grit paper.

Once scratches removed, then use the DAS6 to apply, waxes, sealers, protectors, ceramics....the list goes on.

Deep scratches - I like this guy

- this vid IS about a rattle can spray job, but wtch the bit from 20 mins+ of how he gets rid of the paint error where a fly landed in it. Great channel for all things for auto spray painting.
