when i run Torque app on mine i can see the maf values changing when i open / close throttle and can log max min values, also o2 sensors on mine show the pre cat voltage fluctuating as it should and the the post cat i think is a flat line with an occasional change, i pretty sure mine has two o2 sensors same car 1.9 m44 1998.. also you can monitor fuel trims on torque and see how much they alter over time theres a long term fuel trim and short term fuel trim..i try and pop down to colins sometime this week and plug it into his inpa as i not tried inpa yet....
That would be great, thanks. There’s only one O2 sensor on the M44, thats pre cat. What’s this torque app?

Torque app similar to the Dash Command App I used with the Wifi ELM327 emulator, Handsomejack likes the Torque app.
Downloadable to your mobile phone from usual sources.

have mine running all the time in my car find it so useful.... its nice also to monitor real engine coolant temperature and get the heaters on when the temp goes up especially when sat in traffic... the dash temperature guage does not show the real temperature of the engine and always stays in the middle.. once warmed up the torque app / obd temp guage shows temperature varying by as much as 5 degrees with heaters on in car..also good to see intake temperature, and maf values max throttle position max load and a whole load of guages, fuel economy, and the torque app constanlty monitors obd faults and logs and announces to you verbally whenever you get a obd fault code... next time i see you @ZTec you can have a look at mine in operation...

Where did you get the torque app from, sounds good, we’ll have to catch up sometime.

Well the replacement MAF was fitted 150 miles ago and the exhaust doesn’t smell of fuel as much now and the fuel consumption is getting better, up to 32.4 now.

Bought a C110+ diagnostic scanner now thanks to @G4FUJ, car had a stored code for the MAF, erased it and it hasn’t come back. Looks like the replacement MAF did the trick, now the fuel economy is up to 32.8.

Good! Glad it is proved working. Certainly worked for clearing air bag warning / seat sensor error. :)

The Maf code you found with the scanner would have been set when you tried running with it disconnected. Sounds like the replacement Maf has sorted the rich running, see what the mot exhaust test shows up now.
