Any idea on the wire gauge/awg of a m44 electrical Auxiliary Fan?

Hey all. My fan plug housing that connects to the plug housing on the fan crumbled.
I think it's the reason my fan wasn't working.
I hook the fan directly to the battery to test it using alligator clips and it started working. So the fan isn't the issue.

The connector has 3 wires for the plug (black w/ blue stripe, brown, and a blue).
They have the full plug & wiring listed here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144382031840 for $50, but I didn't want to spend $50.

The plug housing is part# "61131378410".
The electrical connectors are "61130007442", but are out of stock at quite a few places (except for the angled ones).
What I wanted to do was make my own connector using something like the below (cutting off the crumbled plug housings and connecting them to a new one):

but wasn't sure what gauge/awg the original wires were.
The connectors "61130007442" list them as "BMW Round Receptacle 2.5 Watertight (1025 mm)".
Would the "2.5" be 2.5mm wiring? I never heard of wiring listed in mm, only awg. So I wasn't sure, but there are 2.5mm electrical wires being sold online.

Thanks for any feedback. Hope you all are doing good during this hot weather.

Yes look on the ETM diagram, where the cross section of the wires is shown next to the wires.
I bet the cross-section is 1 mm - BMW tend to use rather small wires, but they also seem to use good quality cables, as voltage drop on the 1 mm headlamp wires are just about nil. for comparison, similar sized wires on VW headlamps generally produce a voltage drop of about 1.25 volts.

The wire info will be in the 1998 ETM - this link will put you to main page page but you will have to scroll to index page for link to specific. HTH
Thanks for the link.

It shows as 2.5 and I found this: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/all/electrical/all_wire_size.html
Lists 2.5 as 12awg, but I see other people post around saying between 13-14.
I found replacement wire on fcpeuro that's listed as 2.5 and think I will just go for that and be done with it.

The gauge at least gives me an idea of what plug connector size I should get.
