There is a small braided wire through the top that broke off I did manage to solder a small wire into mine as the original was broken when the plastic top broke off then used epoxy to glue it back together but it didn't last, reception deteriorated over time so replaced with the eBay rubber mast. Going to try a eBay amplifier on it to see if that improves reception. If there are no takers for yours @Mazza I would take it off your hands to revert to stock.
