Are there any other forum members that have swapped a Getrag 6 Speed in there M Roadster/Coupe?

I am very happy with my conversion.
Phase 1 - Replaced the rear main seal, pilot bearing, UUC lightweight flywheel and E34 M5 clutch, UUC custom Short shifter, carrier, DSSR, stainless clutch hose, new BMW 6 speed weighted shift knob, 325i slave cylinder, new giubo, shortened and balanced drive shaft, new center bearing. Installed Getrag 6 speed trans.

I noticed it could use new motor mounts, so I ordered some as well as a SuperSprint header and I plan to install those next month.

Phase 2 - rebuilding diff with 3.64 gears, new bearings and seals, 3 new clutch discs and steels in the LSD.
cut the car up and finally properly fix the defect all of our cars have with the lack of a proper rear sub frame.

I’ve only seen one and that was the red Z3mM roadster in the US.
Would very much like shorter ratios but 6speeds on my 2.8 with a fresh diff.
Would make for an interesting drive I think.

What does yours feel like now? Is it the 240bhp 3.2l?

I do have the S52 240bhp engine however it’s a little higher than that with all the engine mods I have. Not sure how much, I never put the car on a dyno

As far as feel, that will change more once I do the second phase with the differential swap. Having 6th meerly gives me more top end and lower rpm on the highways. However the lighter weight flywheel and upgraded clutch and clutch hose is where I notice more change in feel. It revs faster and I no longer have the clutch delay. Oh and the short shifter is a much better feel, having the dssr gives that notchey and very responsive feel shifting between gears.

The only one I've read about completed and working was in the states, If my memory serves me well it was the 6 speed box out the 335i E90. He had to do a bit of work to the prop to get it aligned.

That is likely the ZF transmission which is much more difficult to complete convert.

The Getrag literally bolts right in with the E36 Euro crossmember.

The most difficult thing is getting the drive shaft shortened and either modifying your original shifter components or replacing them with custom parts like I did.

I love it because it’s the same transmission that is in my E39 M5

I can’t wait to finally fix the dreaded rear sub frame issue and build my 3.64 differential. I have build several differnials and it will be a joy to Sst one up for the Roadster

That's Martin (Ragerover) its an Estoril Blue Coupe, it's modified quite a bit, even has Nitrious Oxide, goes like stink!!! IIRC he used a 6 speed E36 M3 gearbox and changed the diff ratio plus he modified the propshaft. Also has a very amusing reg plate.
