As I ended up with a day off work today and the sun was shining we thought it would be rude not to .
So Sara put together a picnic for dinner and we were set for the day .
We took our usual route into Derbyshire via Duffield and Wirksworth and the Via Gelia road.
With no route set in stone we did a bit of zig zagging up towards Buxton, back down towards Bakewell and through Hathersage to Hope,up Winnats pass to Chapel en le Frith and into the Goyt valley for a picnic.
Cheese and onion sarnies with tomato soup for me and a ham salad for Sara .
Although the sun was shining there was a bracing breeze, colder than yesterday when we were out with @Mint and @Mrs Mint, but nice to be out on dry roads anyway .
Didn't get any pics of the reservoir I'm afraid .
I think we have been around this area with the Mints before,It's a lovey area, very scenic.
Went home via the Manifold valley,Hartington and Ashbourne .
A few pics Sara took whilst on the move.....
Was going to wash the zed when we got home as it's absolutely hanging, but ended up having to rescue TWO young starlings that had fell down the chimney and were stuck behind the gas fire .
As soon as they saw day light they flew out into the front room, knocking things off shelves etc and broke the clock.
Bloody things took some cornering till Sara opened the window and they luckily took the hint .
Steve.
