Today I bought the first (of no doubt many) things for my new toy, a 20" wiper blade. The nearside swept the screen great on the way up and juddered it's way back down, something that drives me mad.
If all goes well over the next few days I may have funds available to be looking into a new set of wheels 17" or maybe 18" so I can ditch the harsh noisy run flats which it's on at the moment. I may keep the spacers off the Z3 as the Z4 looks like it needs them too.

Any helpful ideas re size type etc graciously received.

Wheels can make or break the looks of a car, so if I were you I'd choose carefully Tony and research well on the net to see what's available with pics to back it up, that way hopefully you won't buy then see something better just after, took me over six months to make my mind up over the wheels and so far very happy with what I've got, like Brian H says, buy the right offset and width and they'll fill the space available first time round with the look your hankering for. Can't wait to see your 4,new wheels an all.Roy.

I'd best make sure it's spick and span then mate. A good interior clean won't go amiss although the outside is well polished. I noticed as I went to work this morning the water droplets rushing back up the bonnet towards the screen..

I would go for the 18" Tony, I like the style 108 (not just because they are on my Z4) but always liked them on Mozzas Z4, and when you get around to painting your calipers (waiting to do mine) they look even better. And easy to clean with a good wheel brush.

I agree Jim, they really look nice. We deal with pristine Wheels through work and they're quoting £150 per wheel to strip and refurb. If I have to pay £200 for a set that makes an expensive upgrade when you add tyres.

That's an outrage Tony, I don't know anywhere that charges that for split rims. The last time I looked the place I used for my Breytons charged about £75 a split rim.

Thats the going rate near me, I envy the members that have oodles of companies close by that will do them for 30 - 40 per wheel.

Put some MGP calliper covers on your bling list Tony, should be able to get them for a decent price on your next trip, paintings OK but the covers on mine are nearly 5? yrs old and one 2second wipe puts them back to looking new again, had no adverse effect on brakes and just look how little brake dust gets on my wheels, MOT testers can still inspect pad wear no probs, no brainer and they look great,easy to install. Don't like the MGP sticker on them so I put BMW along with it, and no I hadn't just cleaned them in the pic I'd just got back from a 290ml round trip.

UPDATE: at about AUD$100 each - far out that is expensive. I thought they would be about $35 or so!

The wheels are Japanese Racing 18s, 8.5 in front 9.5 in rear, offset et 35, 225 tyres front 245 rear and just a hint of stretch, fills arches to about max, but OEM height at the moment until new suspension is fitted then hopeing -30 will still clear. (not genuine split rims just look alike)calliper covers are from USA and are MGP Caliper covers for Z3, not cheap any more as mine are 5+yrs old and weren't popular in UK at that time but it seems they've caught on somewhat since so prices have changed. If you go on net and Google wheels or Caliper covers name they'll come up, you'll maybe have to pay Import duty even down there in Australia. Let us know how you get on.Rha, Roy.

Got to agree with everyone on this one mate. I had two done when I bought the car and paid £60 a wheel. Did a cracking job too and that was with a shadow chrome finish as well. Shop about friend, there having your pants down!
