I realised I missed having a car to tinker with and whilst I have a '72 viva in need of a full restoration, I wanted an MOT failure to part swap and have a bit of fun with.
Like most good stories, it really starts in the pub. Chatting to an old school friend he told me about a z3 project him and his dad owned that they ran out of time with and moved on from. It had failed an MOT and was just waiting for some love. They had the parts, just not the time or love so it sat for a few years.
The reg ending with ODD gives me a good laugh and there's meaning to be found in the start of the reg also which is always nice when eyeing up a car.
£500 exchanged hands and I became the new owner. 6 days, a rear subframe mount and some wipers later... it had a fresh MOT.
My very almost 7 year old loves it, especially with the roof down and me and the wife have had a laugh in it too.
I'm going to attempt a little drift day with a spare diff that's going to get welded. It's only the m44 1.9l however, it's plenty to get me going and turning spanners again.
