Having not had the zed out for a fair few weeks, we decided to go for a gentle spin this evening.
Just one of our favourite places to go but on a slightly different route, which turned out quite good.
Hardly any traffic about for a change.....or horses......or lycra louts :D.
Stopped at the engine shed over the road from Belvoir castle and saw this lovely looking thing parked up....

It's a Porsche, not a VW as I first thought, in pristine condition. Can't say as I've ever seen one before.

Yep, it's a 356, the shape before the the 911's made their entrance. I think the last of these would have been built around 1964 -65.. Would be worth a king's ransom these days.

I used to do some work for a man who lived across the river at Dunham years ago. He had one of these, a very early 911 and a Kahman Ghia too. Glad to see you out Steve.:)

Good to see you got out mate . I thought it was a Karman Ghia at first glance.

It makes the Z3 look big in that picture; unusual these days. A very convincing replica indeed, very nice.

I'd swap both my Zeds for one of those kit porkers

I would imagine that one wouldn't be that dear to run after initial purchase as appears to be old vw beetle/ karman ghia based definitely looks like an air cooled vw power plant

The Chesil website says VW style donks 1600 cc to 2.0l and 4 speed VW type box. So it's probably a VW on a chopped short beetle chassis with a 356 style body. Nice enough. I s'pose. Zeds are good.
