Always liked the straight 6 Triumph engines and Gt6 was a great idea big engine in a small car. Triumph brand name is owned by BMW now so you have come full circle.
You still have the picture 40 years later but how many digital pictures will still be about unless they are printed .

mine was just like that, except Royal Blue. To think I was a teenager when I had it!

"Chick Magnet!" (sorry ladies) but it didn't half make me popular!

Sad thing is I can't find a photo of it.:(

Why do I never see any of these on the road or shows like you do other Truimphs. Low production?
Z4 coupe seems a modern version of this.

I had a green Mk1 GT6 before that red Mk3,but I wrote the green one off by sticking it through a gaslamp. Yes, a gas lamp! They still had some gas street lights then and the road had to be closed because of the leaking gas.
I did like the Triumph six and so when we got married I got a Triumph 2000.Had to have room for children.

My love of a straight six came from the same engine albeit in a different car Ken. It was in a Standard Vanguard which we had for thrashing round fields as kids. The gym teacher at Gainsborough Grammar school had a bright yellow GT6 Mk3.

There aren't many left on the road, probably less than 50. I'm sure there's a site that will tell us

[QUOTE="Ontiken1, My Triumph GT6 at Seaton in the hot summer of 1976.[/quote]
Ah I know Seaton, been there the last two summers, my sister has a chalet up in the hills over looking the bay. Bloomin great Tesco there now next to the tram station.

PS Remember summer of 76 too, folk were frying eggs on the pavement to show how hot it was. Had my first car them, an MG version of the Austin 1100 with plaggy seats, burnt my legs sitting on them!

I had a mini traveller with Corbeau GT bucket seats, these had brass rings fitted into the fabric to let the seat "breathe" and I got in one day and my tee shirt rode up and I burned my back on the stupid rings. I got out much quicker than I got in!

Branded eh? Oh wish we could say the same again/ Was in Cornwall, think it was Llanhydrock House(?) we visited on the way back after St Michaels Mount. As Gail stated I too can remember the weather breaking around September. Last year I was thinking of going back again this year seeing as it's 40 years since last there. Lands End was just a sign post and a building as I remember, think I remember reading someone bought it and built a theme park :-( Innocent carefree days.

That event was a Slalom, an all forward autotest a bit faster than a normal autotest the cones are laid out to indicate the direction.
