im trying to get the alternator out iv removed 2 bolts but it still wont budge........there is a bolt at the rear of the alternator does this have to come out as well?

the non return valve is in the engine block and turns but doesn't feel like it comes out?
im this far in i might as well change the o rings on it but it really isnt going to come out with braking.....dose it come out?

thanks Brian yep iv got that for reference on here.........it should come out as its the plastic on...but its in there good and tight...to the point that its going to brake if i force it.....im wondering if theres a way of doing it..ie it has to be in a certain position..but iv tried all that..........i think the plan is to grab a new one from BMW and another gasket....my real worry is if theres something connected to it in the engine block
ok ...the none return valve can be removed just needed a bit of good old fashioned tugging and wiggling.
please note if your going to do this job then put new O rings (x2 realOEM only shows x1) as the one on the engine block seems to be the one that was causing the leak!
this is a 2 hour job at most if you know the way to go about it..and please dont forget to disconnect the battery...your going to have to remove the alternator and big sparks while under there is not good....as i found out when i forgot 2nd time round.. @-)
