This was Saturday afternoon's job for this last weekend. The pedal set consists of Accelerator, brake and footrest pedals. The accelerator and brake were direct fitment, the footrest was not a straight forward job and required some modification. The main thing was to measure the dimensions of the footrest and make sure that the one supplied in the kit was big enough to be cut down to shape. The basic kit consists of these parts.

You have to remove the original rubber "anti-slip" pad from the brake pedal. The new ones come with anti-slip grips to keep them ok for the M.O.T.

I started with the accelerator pedal first as it was fitted by self tapping screws through the original pedal, I applied some super glue as the were put in for the final time. The brake pedal requires very careful marking to get the screw holes drilled in just the right places. The one was fitted using the screws and nuts supplied in the kit.
The footrest also required careful marking and cutting to shape, I used an air cut-off tool to do this but a hacksaw achieves the same result.

When you have done this and clean off the rough edges you have to re-fit the rubber pad and trim it to the same shape as the pedal, once done it's simply a matter of fitting it to the original plastic footrest with self tapping screws.

OK, it's a fair cop Guv, send round the ///M police, I should've left the tape on for the pictures.

Anyway, road tested tonight to Saxilby, to the Mandarin and given the seal of approval.:)

Tony.

Another busy afternoon mate ? That looks like a good mod.

I haven't been out in my Zed this weekend. Had a trip to B&Q in the Merc to get some ready mix cement and then me and my boy put some flashing on the lean to roof.

Then the football started and I found myself welded to the settee

I did the same to my Z3 mate, including making my own footrest pedal.

That looks great Tony. There doesn't seem very much room to rest your left foot in the Z3, the Z4 looks a lot more generous.

Very true mate, not so bad in an Auto, but tighter in a manual no doubt. I do like a foot rest, especially with Cruise control and that's on my want list now.:)

Top job Tony, another job on my to do list, do you know if you can fit a foot rest in a manual z3 as I do like to rest my left foot.
Just found these on Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aluminum-Pe...58760721&sr=8-3-fkmr2&keywords=bmw+z3m+pedals
Only just seen this thread so if it helps here's what it looks like in a manual Z3. Footrest has to be cut down or you'll risk catching it every time you go for the clutch. Also I had to site the accelerator and the brake a little closer so I could toe and heel better having tried them centrally mounted onto the originals which made them a little too far apart for me. They really stand out when the door is open, great looking mod. Purchased the H/Braake handle at the same time so like Tony I've been dodging the "M" police ever since.
