:( What a beautiful day to try and get the horrid green mould of my lovely Z :p
It was embarrassing to drive :(
I've tried my hardest with the products I found in the shed :p
This is the result :)
It's not perfect but its better than its was ;)
And at least the Z got a good clean as well ;)
I'll go to halfords at the weekend and see what I can buy to get a better result :)
Now I need some good hand cream as my hands have gone rough lol :)
I do feel embarrassed showing you my green roof :)
But here goes ....... :)

Use a fabric cleaner once perfectly clean reproof the top with either Renovo proofer or Fabsil proofer.
If tops not fade I would not advise the dye not unless it's the last option on badly faded tops.
The mould might need to be agitated with a soft brush.
Make sure proofing is done on dry day allowing a good few hours to dry and seal.
Cliff.

Just seen halfords mentioned Autoglym do a cabriolet hood kit cleaner and proofer in a kit.
But be aware proofer is a spray so u need to mask paint windows it can be a pain especially if windy.
I use renonvo or Fabsil proofer pour into an old ice cream tub use a nice paint brush to apply quicker easier less mess.
Any splashes remove asap from windows paintwork.
Cliff.

Soak it with Milton mixed 1 part Milton to 10 parts water work it into the fabric with a soft brush and leave for 15 Minutes and the use plenty of water to rinse, you need to kill the spores of the algae (its not mould) before you seal it or it will keep coming back and mark the fabric.

I did buy some Milton :p
But I was frightened to use it just in case......... :)
I ended up with a white and black roof ( because of the bleach ) :)
I was thinking of using white vinegar =))
As its good for lots of things ;)

Yes as mentioned get shot of the green stuff before sealant.
Sealant should keep it cleaner for longer .
Re seal on outside regular useage cars twice a year or at the very least once a year.

Dilute it down and don't leave on for no more than 15 minutes, and then hose down with plenty of water. Then clean and proof.

Done mine last year using Milton and Autoglym cleaner and proofer, hood still looks like new, no sign of the dreaded Algae.
