I am sure that there are some guru's here who will know the answer.
I have a facelift 2.2 and I am not sure the alarm works. The set and unset process seems fine and in theory I can override the interior sensors by pressing and holding the lock button on the key with the corresponding response from the LED. However, I understand that the car is fitted with proximity sensors which should trigger the alarm if someone reaches inside the vehicle but the alarm doesn't go off. Also I have been unable to trigger it when, for example, opening the bonnet.
When the alarm is triggered do the indicators flash as well as the siren sounding? Mine don't.
Is there a method to disable the sounder? There shouldn't be as its a Thatcham Cat 1 system.
Can it be re-set?
Any thoughts as to why its not triggering? Is this something that can be picked up with diagnostics?
To be clear this is the system that doesn't have the additional key fob.
Thanks in anticipation.
