Assuming no-one is trying to steal it could be bonnet sensors, water in the passenger side boot well shorting the mercury switch mine goes off all the time so I just lock it on the key so the alarm isn't activated. Must check it out sometime

Ah cheers at least I can lock it. Don't think water is an issue at the moment!!

You'd be surprised it can sit in there for ages as it can't get out or easily evaporate worth checking. Pull back the carpet alongside the passenger rear light and stick your hand in right to the bottom if it's dry happy days

Possible bonnet switch as Niall said or boot switch or even door switch. Is your car old enough to have the switch on top of the sounder in the engine bay so you can silence the alarm?

Tony.

Not sure the car is a 99 and not played up before. I will try and take a look tomorrow.

Bonnet switch had slipped off on mine causing the alarm to go off, quick fix and now all good. Check that first
