Hi

Has anyone got a working airbag module with the part number 5776910677, 65776922954 or 65776908896.

Many thanks

Pete

Thanks in advance.

I am interested to know why the module needs replacing.
Also has your replacement module sorted the issue did it plug and play ( I thought they were coded ) .
I have an interest in this as maybe looking to due a future air bag upgrade and add a passenger one so any info I can glean to find out if this is even possible.
Stephen.

Hi Stephen.

My module wasn't communicating. The previous owner had butchered the SRS/Airbag system to get rid of the light. When he couldn't he just wired the airbag light to the oil light for the MOT. Because the initial problem wasn't fixed and the code cleared within 50 ignition cycles the module goes into self destruct rendering it useless.

I got a replacement module to go with my replaced system and cleared the codes. Worked a treat.

I got an identical module with the same part number and it was plug and play, no coding.
Just needed to clear the codes.

Pete

Was it easier enough to do? Think I will be removing mine and sourcing a new one as got the F0 code, can't communicate with it and beginning to think mine has been butchered as well seeing someone has tried to remove fuses and random wiring. Mine only shows DSC light and the ABS is working just can't communicate with it.

It is plug and play to a certain extent. I sourced one with the exact same part number from a similar aged car and spec so there was no coding.
You will need a code reader that can read airbag/SRS system codes too.

Hardest part was removing the centre console. You can get at it by taking out the screws on the passenger side of the console then gently bending the side back. You will lose your knuckles and end up swearing, not the best way. I tried that first to find the part number.

DSC light? That is not the airbag module, you'll get the Airbag and SRS lights with the module.

I thought I'd fixed all my wiring and now my ABS, brake lights, roof and ASC don't work since rewiring the SRS and Roof to how it should be.
I sense more bodgery is a foot.

They'd put a positive to the roof limit switch for some reason. That's supposed to be a switched ground. Since removing that all hell as broken lose. 🤦🏼
Following the circuit diagram that goes through to the braking system. The roof shares the same switched live as the ABS and ASC.

That is where I am getting stuck. The ABS is working fine but throwing up codes. The C110 will not read anything on the chassis. Code F0 is meant to be knackered ABS unit but the ABS is working. Ive been told it could be Yaw sensor, Steering angle sensor, could be wheel speed sensors, DSC module but because I can't read anything it seems daft to buy all the bits and then try to replace them to find out it was none of them!

It defies all logic why people put random wires in to bypass safety features, why not just fix them?

Yours sounds like a right PITA I've got a live wire in the engine can't find where it goes to, where it comes from and is a halfords special so retrofitted. It was not even taped up just floating around lol

I renovate houses for a living and its no different there people do random stuff and it works, no idea how or why but they seem to get away with it, how it doesn't burn down is beyond my knowledge!

Is it the ABS or Airbag module that you were looking at doing?
I can communicate with the SRS but not the ABS at the mo. ABS works, not lights just DSC. I've checked power going to the switch, unplugged the DSC cleaned elec connections and plugged back in but nowt. When I scan SRS thats what gives me the codes.

I took the brake light switch out yesterday to check it. That was the worst job ever. Ended up breaking it to get it out.

Electrics can be a real PITA. Try re-wiring to suit my conversion, very tricky!

It was the brake fluid level sensor 🤦🏼
Does it truly surprise you? I have now bought a cable and loaded up INPA so hopefully try to get to the bottom of everything before I lose my marbles!🤪

Oh for the days when our "sensors" were: "that sounds like the brake pads grinding on the disc, time to change them" or "engine sounds rough, lift the bonnet, spray the ignition leads with Holts damp-start, prod the disty and all good", "exhaust looks a bit black - running rich, exhaust a bit grey - running lean".

Progress Eh!

I know, everything is electric issues now. Too complicated. Why do they put all this electronic garbage in when the mechanical versions were bullet proof.

Got everything put back together and now the fuel gauge and roof have stopped working 🤦🏼

You can gradually get rid of the sensors (up to a point) and all the rubbish emissions stuff mine has SAP, PCV both deleted and flew through emissions on MOT.
