Hi Team :),
I have the airbag warning light on the dash. I have read and cleared the codes and the same code comes straight back.

The error is = Airbag,Driver,Stage 1.

Has anybody had the same problem ?

The DSC lights are also on which I believe is the Yaw sensor, could they be linked ? Does the airbag system use the Yaw sensor ?

Heeeeeelllllllllllp!

Have you moved your seat back and forward?
Check that the small red connector that plugs into the seat belt pyro unit hasn’t become disconnected.

If you put the seat forward and use a mirror to check ....it’s awkward but manageable

It’s the red/yellow one you can just see in the picture.

Thank you, Mine doesn't have that connector type as my car is a face lift. Seat connectors are connected.

From memory I think that usually means the slip ring on the steering wheel. I think it’s a different error for the pre-fastener pyro.

The slip rings can fail over time.

If your horn isn’t working either that greatly increases the chances, well pretty much confirms, it’s the slip ring.

But if the horn does work it might still be the slip ring!

Funny you should say that, as my horn is working but not properly, its making a very weedy noise !

I will look into a replacement, bet there not cheap !

New they would probably be extortionate

Secondhand maybe £40. Most people would go for that option.

If you PM me with your VIN I’ll see what type you need (there are several) and let you know if I have one.

Update to thread. Incase anybody gets a similar problem
The error code = Airbag,Driver,Stage 1. was the clock spring/slip ring on my car.

The DSC ABS Traction fault (lights on my dash and left front abs kicking in while driving) which gave me error codes 5E38.
This fault was caused by a failed YAW sensor which is fitted under the passenger seat under the carpet.

At last my dash is now longer lighting up like a christmas tree !
