Car is due for inspection, airbag light is on and I can not reset it. Some time ago I installed an aftermarket steering wheel with the resistors to cancel the light, no problem at all.
Periodically I would get a warning so I bought a cancelling tool and it worked a treat. Recently though I am not able to cancel it, and with a C110 gizmo it tells me drivers airbag. I have refitted the BMW steering wheel, same result. This leads me to believe that the intermittent fault has become permanent?
I have read about the usual suspects, clock spring and connectors etc. Are these code readers always correct in pinpointing the error or could this be the seat issue I've read about?
I've checked and double checked the connectors between the airbag and the plug under the steering column, I hope it's the clock spring, are they prone to intermittent faults before finally giving up?
I'm having someone look at it this week, everything is crossed
