Air Filter Temp Probe

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me where does the temp probe fit if one upgrades from a standard air filter to a K&N or any other type of induction kit.

Seem to remember seeing a previous thread on this subject, if you go down the K&N filter route and remove the stock air filter housing would you just have a K&N cone filter or would you put in a cold air extension pipe in from front of car to the filter. Temp sensor needs to go in the air flow before it gets to the Maf. Stock position as far as I remember is in the top lid of the filter housing so its measuring the air flow temp after its passed through the filter. If you go down the K&N filter route take care not to over oil it, failed Mafs can result!!
