My M43 got wind I was going to put it up for sale and decided it would start binding the OSF brake. ..lovely smell! I am hoping my local can clean up the sliders etc, but if it needs a caliper does anyone have any positive experience of any specific after market part/make . Can’t afford BMW.

It won’t be the slides it will be the piston more likely. Aftermarket front callipers are cheap enough, rear ones not so.

Thanks Tony..you will undoubtedly be right. I am surprised they have been working at all to be honest, they are very crusty.

If they were alloy calipers I would advise removing the rubber sleeves which the slider pins go through as alloy corroded and swells and nips on the pins. You don't get that so much with steel calipers.

They are all steel, I just put that out there for anyone reading who has a Mini with Alloy rear calipers.

Tony.
