Hey Y’all
As you know the stock seats in the Z doesn’t really hold you in and spirited driving results in you flopping and sliding about. I’ve been searching for a decent aftermarket seat option and unfortunately have come up short. Searching for any info has not produced a lot of answers either. I know you can make things work with enough effort but I’d like a nice bolt inane go option. Anyone have experience with reclining Sparco or Corbeau seats they’d like to share? I was looking at the Sparco R100s as an option. It seems the narrowness of our interiors causes a lot of clearance issues.

Have you tried Z3 sport seats? Both my Z3s are sport models and I dont have a problem when spirited driving. The sport seats hold me firm , no sliding about;)

As an "M" owner, as you'd expect I have the "M" seats.
Whilst I have no doubt they're better than the standard seats, I have to agree with @Johnydubya - they are nowhere near as supportive as they should be.

Personally I find the main issue is that they're leather. I just don't understand the obsession with leather in cars - particularly performance cars. It's a slippery surface that results in your arse sliding from side to side on hard cornering. Fabric is a much better surface but it has a stigma of "cheapness" about it - personally every car I have had that's had alcantara seats has made me truly feel like I have been velcro'd into the driver's seat.

I am sorely tempted to source a 2nd pair of seats and have them retrimmed with additional side bolstering & alcantara. It won't do anything for the value of my car but I could keep the originals wrapped up in the loft to refit when needed....

I'm from the Midwest we put ranch on everything!! Getting fat is America's national past time. Have you ever eaten a bacon cheeseburger with two krispy creme donuts as the bun?? I have and its star spangled delicious.

I'll have to check out the sport seat option.

I agree that leather in a drop top can be....well uncomfortable on a hot day.

this is something I considered before getting the Sparcos.
I may even do my Sparcos in alacantra as it’s a lovely material for proper driving.
Oh and the heaters work so much faster with fabric:thumbsup:
