Well, I have been looking around for a few weeks now, for a roadster to replace my G29 Z4.
After trying a few Mercedes SLK's, a couple of Boxsters, an E85 Z4 and a few four seat convertibles, I am slowly coming back round to the idea of re-joining the Z4 fold with an E89.
While the E89 is probably the least 'sporting' of all the Z's, it is a very stylish shape and ticks a lot of boxes with its solid folding roof and decent boot space, at least when the roof is closed.
So, the question is, which is the best engine? I favour a six over the hundreds of four-cylinder ones out there, but is the 23i good enough or should I get the 30i or even the 35i I have seen today?
Any comments gratefully received.

The 35i is probably the best of the E89 although i do like the 23 and at just over 200 bhp plenty powerful enough for me and most people who drive in the UK. As for the E89 much better finished inside than the E85 and really do like the Folding roof, never tire of its mechanism and how it folds. Looks wise always conjective i love the looks of my E85 but feel the E89 has a much cleaner look

So, problem now resolved. Glad to be getting a 'new' roadster next week, but not a BMW this time.
It's been good sharing views with you, but now time to move on to a new group.
