After deciding to change the aerial on the car I struggled to get the old one off. After a bit of BFI and WD40 I found out why. The previous owner had bodged the plastic inside with some tape and it finally broke into a 1000 pieces, well not quite a 1000 but a few.

Anyway less of the rambling. I now need a new unit. I believe the part number is 65218375159 and if any of you good folk have one lying aroun they would like to sell me then please contact me and we can arrange.

Whilst browsing the web it seems that aerials from othe Beemers mat fit the Zed. Has anyone down this or does anyone know if it's possible?

Cheers

FD

There was a complete original Z3 aerial on fleabay the other day but having just looked it must have gone. :(

Is it the base unit in the wing that is broken or just the whip.

The clue is in the part number Ian .... and unfortunately it's not the cheap whip top bit :(

Unless you want new FD then may be worth trying a breakers ?... This Breaker appears to have 2 zeds for breaking at the moment and both appear to have an intact arial from what you can see on the photos.

Worth filling out the request form on the site, looks a simple task :D

Hi Freds Dad, I had the same problem and managed to get a second hand one from a breaker eventually. While I was searching I put the part number in the oem search facility and it gave the following vehicles that use the same base.

E36 318i Convertible
E36 323i Convertible
E36 325i Convertible
E36 328i Convertible
E36 M3 Convertible
E36 318ti Compact

Hope this helps, Alec
