Hello,
s
Just working through my list of issues to fix and one of them is a snapped flexible aerial. I have attached pictures of how it is broken as I'm not 100% sure if I just need a grommet or the full antenna unit (hopefully not has this looks expensive).

Many thanks in advance!

Beware that some of them are made of rock-hard rubber, and are difficult to fit! (Found that out myself, pre-facelift Z3)
My radio reception using the standard aerial is terrible, is there any improvement that can be easily gained?

We have a 2002 Z3 2.2 Roadster. Several people on eBay are selling these. The grommet on ours has completely perished so don't know what it originally looked like. Have ordered one but not entirely confident in the shape. The Seller states it is compatible. Has anyone fitted one of these? Tx.

Make sure you get the correct grommet for the year of your car, cheaper from BMW than those on ebay. As for the unit itself used one from one of our resident Breakers probably best but they aint cheap. I have an aftermarket one on my Z but its not amplified like the oem one, it works but its not perfect. Be aware the electrical connection to the base is live so when disconnecting don't short it out on the bodywork.

I have a 2001 facelift so same rear wing as you. The angle on the grommet I bought from BMW was nowhere near as raked as the one in your attachment.

As mentioned by others, would recommend ordering a genuine one from BMW after giving them your reg number first. Will likely be cheaper and you'd be certain of getting the right one, plus easier to exchange in the unlikely event it's not correct.
