I managed to create more work for myself today by unscrewing the top of the aerial, the black length you can see above the wing, from the base. Big mistake as there is a short length of wire connecting the two parts internally. Separating them broke the wire off deep inside the top part. Much cursing and key hole soldering later I repaired it and gave myself a good rollicking because there is no need to split them at all. So I was now back to square one and fitted the new grommet in about 10 minutes once I had engaged my brain.
The airbag light came on yesterday after moving both seats to give the carpets a good hoovering. I have not had to use INPA on the M before and it took a few minutes to find it in the menu but once in there it cleared the error and my trusty ancient computer earned its keep again.
My own little zshed day, £8.50 for a small rubber grommet, £10 for a tyre reseat to cure a very slow leak and she’s ready for Italy at the end of the month.
