I own a BMW Z3 2.8. When I purchased the vehicle it came with only one ignition key. The Vehicle has a sophisticated Thatcham alarm fitted with two control fobs which control everything, My ignition key is only used to actually start the car, and in lieu of using the remote fob also the door and boot locks.
In view of this I was wondering whether I could get away with purchasing a Grey Service key from BMW to use as a spare back up key should I ever need one or if there is another alternative. Many thanks..
