An elderly relative of mine who has given up driving, have asked me to help sell there car, She has owned it from new, I want to do the best for her and not get ripped of by dealer, just wanted an idea on value and what model etc, here's what I know,
2003 (03) Z3 Roadster 2494cc, Auto, leather, genuine 28000 miles from new, full dealer history, metallic grey, soft top with spare hard top, very good condition,

Wow, that's sounds an amazing car Holly but I don't think it can be a 2.5 engine unless it is in the USA ? You would get better value selling the hard too and fitting kit separately.

Personally - I would pitch the price at £6999 to include hardtop and fitting kit or £6500 excluding hardtop and fitting kit (sell separate for around £800).

I think it must be a 2.2. @DavidM is bang on the money. Good colour and lovely miles plus must be one of the very last off the production line. £6995 with the hardtop sounds good to me. Maybe under the circumstances @GazHyde may allow you to put a sale ad up here but please add plenty of pics. It always helps. :)

Firstly thanks for all your advice, I feel a bit stupid but just found out it's a Z4, everything else is correct, so could we start again,
Thanks again

Some of the Z4 experts may have a closer estimate than I could give - good luck with the sale.

No worries.

Shame it's not a Z3 as that would have been a very desirable Z3

When you say very good condition - does that mean no damage, scratches and paint damage?
If it really is in great condition you will likely have people beating a path to your door. Such low mileage and good condition cars are rare irrespective of the engine size etc.

I presume the leather is the standard black.

I would hope to get £7k upwards, possibly nearer £8k if it really is pristine with full service history etc. Somewhat lower if damaged in anyway.

Unfortunately low mileage can be a problem unless the car has been well looked after but driven decent distances when used. occasionally short distances are not good for cars.

There are 3 similar cars to yours on Autotrader, priced as follows:

(The second two are the newer facelift version, so expect a price closer to the first car. I reckon £6k or so without hardtop.)

That's why I asked the question that I did Holly, I expected it was a Z4. As Ian has said the value would need to be in the £7 - 8,000 range. I bought a 2003 3.0 Z4 2 years ago with only 13,500 miles on it and it has been great with no issues at all. Good luck in finding a home for the car.:)

Single owner adds to the value - probably several hundred pounds. Unlikely to have been ragged but is now just run in
Most cars of that age are on 4-6 owners I would have thought. You have the full provenance for the car.
It all adds to the value.
OK its a 2003 but the difference between that and a 2006 for example probably doesn't detract too much from the worth of the car if it really is good, low mileage but well maintained.

Very good point, you have changed my my opinion there. £7-8k seems about right then.

One thing is that people wanting an older Z4 will be looking at a lot lower price. You will be pitching it in the same price bracket as a 3.0si which even with higher mileage is a lot more desirable. The early 2.5SE is not one of the most desirable Z4s but saying that i would still expect you to get around 7k without hardtop and sell that separately for around 800 i have even known the Hardtops in mint condition go for above 1k .
