I have the same ones if you zoom in. My lad bought them for me one fathers day.

I'm not going to get that sort of pic on my phone TBF :( Oh, as an aside, I've just fathomed out to zoom my phone camera, only took 18 months =)) no more long shots and hoping that @GazHyde might raise me up to "IT Nerd" status :)

Useful feature. Zooms on most phones however are digital zooms. It just uses a smaller part of the sensor. Go too far and they become pixelated. You can get the same from cropping your original unzoomed image.
I have Nerd status in multiple disciplines =))

You had very similar conditions there as I had when I did the image above. The problem is cameras frequently don't see and record what our eyes see. Thats why when you look at your pictures you might feel somewhat disappointed with them. It just needs a bit of 'tweaking' to get it looking just how you saw it. Its possible and not too hard to do.
A couple of other bits of advice is - if there is something in the picture that doesn't add to what you're trying to say, then exclude it. Create some way of leading your viewer into your picture using composition. There are lots, but rule of thirds is a massive place to start.

Sadly, I have too many years messing about with cameras ;)
