I'm contemplating getting the ac Schnitzer short shifter and was wondering if anyone had any experience of it? Does it make much of a difference? Is it easy to fit? Any advice appreciated

I think @GazHyde had/has one?
I have the Storm gear knob not the Schnitzer one. Are you talking about shortened heavy Schnitzer knob, or an actual short shift shaft! (Managed to type that without giggling too)

It's the shaft mechanism/linkage, I already have the ac schnitzer black line Gear knob.
I'll try and post a picture of the item.

No, I don't start until Ash Wednesday so this may have to be one final crack at going off topic for 40 days from midnight my time which also allows me six more hours after everyone overseas is finished for the day. I think you should contribute for making that error. I pointed that out pretty clearly in the challenge or were you out playing darts tonight?? JIM

I have one but awaiting shipping from the UK. Got a great deal off eBay UK last year new. Install I believe from my research is the trans has to be removed but I'm hoping that's wrong.

I guess that not only is it shorter, the ball joint is better quality rather than the wobbly plastic affair in there as standard.

Are they easily available or hens teeth to acquire?

I found mine advertised for £120 on eBay UK last summer and after a bit of smooth talking, you know how slick I can be, got the seller down to £80 and the shipping was included. I think the last one I saw advertised was well over £300 closer to£400. I don't know where this one comes from but they aren't cheap and are available though not everyday. JIM

German eBay 149euros for everything in the picture including the knob (2.0l and 2.2l) but I can't seem to post the link

You losing the plot Jim? It's me who plays darts. Anyway, if you're going to hibernate for 40 days and nights it's not going to trouble you too much is it?;)

Tony.

Hi Tony, no I meant HT!! I know you go Mondays. I was just suggesting maybe he had been out thus the remark!! As a Moderator he knows I would never venture into a knob post except maybe if it involved a HT! Three hours to go, trying to cleanse my mind before I start the challenge. Later Bro, JIM
