Abs Pump Required for Z3

Hi everyone,

My 1998 Z3 requires a ABS pump. Part number 34511164896
E36 I believe.

Any ideas where to find a cheap one please

Great. Mine Z3 is 1.9 petrol . I take it they used the same pump on different models. Fingers crossed yours is the same

There's 2 types of ABS pump. A 2.2 would only have the later type. A 1998 could have either.

Based on my experience with the later type, don't know with earlier...

If you are changing the piggyback module, with the pump, or that's all you need, you should recode it. Any working module will clear ABS error lights. But it might not work the ABS properly if it's come from another car, even a Z3 as it may carry different config values.

I wouldn't routinely change the pump unless you know it to have a fault. The pump could be 2+ hours labour. The module is 15 minutes.

The vast majority of pump errors are the module not the pump - even if it says pump error.

If you fit another pump ( that is working correctly) the abs and traction control light will go out ( traction control switch will put light on and off) the abs will work but the traction control system will not operate until recoding is carried out.
