Had the abs and tc lights come on after the car was laid up for a while. All speed sensors have been swapped for known good ones as part of a brake refresh. I gather it could be a controller. Where is this component located - any pics?

Back of the engine bay right hand side.
When mine started to play up I ordered a complete controller/pump assembly of ebay and just swapped the controller over.
You’ll need to find a replacement with same part number to avoid coding issues.

Wow into changing the controller so soon?

First thing is to read the trouble codes from the ABS module. They will tell you what parts to replace.

You're going to need a scanner with BMW software, and a 20 pin to OBD2 adapter cable so you can connect to the correct port under the bonnet/hood.

The scanner you need depends on the age of your car. Read: https://zroadster.org/threads/how-to-scan-early-model-z3s-pre-build-date-03-98.39937/

Alternatively, find a forum member close to you with the right scanning gear and get them to read the codes for you.

When My ABS light came on the fault code reader said it was the rear/right speed sensor. But instead of jacking up the car I unplugged the cable at the ABS pump Sprayed a bit of WD40 in. Plugged/unplugged it a few times more. Went for a drive. Fault gone

I get this problem after the car has been standing without being plugged in to its charger - it goes away after a decent run. The Slip Control Module is obviously voltage sensitive.
