Right just a question regarding abs my lights have come on (traction light and abs light) I've had my car put on the diagnostic and it came back with an unknown code but the mech did a bit more digging and it said abs pump was problem. It was fine before it came off the road and I've done the console swap which meant the facelift asc switch which I got from eBay. I don't know if this switch is good although the illumination bit works fine. Is there anything else I can check? Thanks Daz.

Can you plug the old switch in temporarily? You could discount the new switch causing the problem if you do. If that doesn't work, maybe an "engineers tap" might fix the pump, it make have slightly seized if it has been sat around.

Ok thanks I'll give them a go would be a bit of a pain doing the switch as I've now cut the old block off and put a different one on but suppose its the only way to check.

If the only thing that has changed is the switch then it makes sense that it could be the cause of your problem. Also, if you have cut into the wiring it might be worth checking your connections are correct. It will be an easy fix if it is the switch, good luck! :)

Congrats on the star :D the switch is the only thing that's changed however I've renewed all the steel brake hoses and I also moved the abs unit out the way for painting the engine bay. Will have another check with the big hammer at the weekend :ymdevil:

My ABS light comes on now & again & after plugging it in to my mates diagnosis kit (Peugeot, Vauxhall expensive dealer kit) it comes up with ABS pump but after the light comes on I wash my wheels & give them a real good hosing down & the light stays off for months which suggests a dirty wheel sensor.
I have read of other reports of ABS pumps being diagnosed as the problem but changing the rear sensors cured the problem. Also if you do decide to change the rear sensors make sure you get the ones with the same colour plugs as the wrong colour won't work properly ;)
