After taking @Toby's advice last Friday, recomending Yorkshire for a good place to visit for good driving roads and scenery,Sara booked a b+b in Northallerton for Saturday night and off we went that morning.

Took the motorways to get up there quicker and started Toby's route from Settle, along the Ribble valley, buttertubs pass and Thirsk.
Excellent route and highly recommended .

We came across this ford which was a nice surprise.

We found this scenic little spot to stop for a picnic and a cuppa.
Just as we set up the kettle etc, these lovely classic Fords came cruising past, there were loads and I couldn't snap them all but here's a few.

Couldn't have chosen a better weekend for weather ,a little too hot for me at times.
At one point I even muttered about getting a Z4 coupe with air con :p.

Steve and Sara.

Nice write up Bozzy, great pics too.

Love it up there and planning a trip in the not too distant future, when the weather is good. Did you get to the creamery in Hawes ? Some really good cheeses and plenty of free tasting to go at :D Proper Wallace and Gromit stuff :)

Cheers mate, all thanks to you .
No didn't visit the creamery place unfortunately, saw the sign for it though but we were pushing it for time so didn't indulge. A good excuse to go back though ;).
Some of those roads were superb, up and down and twisty ,just a shame there were so many stray sheep making me scared to give it some as there'd be a sheep in the road around just about every corner :baa .

Thanks mate,we'll do the roads you recommended as well next time. Didn't really really have time on this visit as it would've took us further north.
Another good reason to go back though :).

Thanks Dave, been using Maguires quick detailer that has wax in it,inbetween washes. It's excellent stuff as it keeps the car looking shiny and water beads away very well.
We both took some pics,Sara's are from the passenger seat, whilst we're moving
and mine from outside the car.
