Well, it was the Spring really.
Testing a Peugeot Expert van this morning I'd already noted that the O/S headlight was quite low and suspecting a broken front spring I didn't bother to adjust it. Anyway later on the real reason the light was aimed low came to light (sorry).

The upper spring cup has gone right through the corroded support under the inner wing.

Oh dear. Did that result in you stopping the car from returning to the road?
I have no power to do that Rob. Did you see the Corsa subframe I posted last week, I told the young woman not to drive it away but she did, absolutely nothing I can do.

I always thought you had the power to do that, especially these days. Must be mixing things up with the Police.

So allowed to drive around in a death trap. But pulled up for 2 spots of rust on a spring. I am 100% in favour of the MOT test but it's not quite right really is it?

No mate. it's not and if you only knew how much they've had to reapply to the "New" manual since May it is a complete and utter joke. A total waste of time. A lot of miscommunication when the new manual was discussed by the Motoring Press, I said at the time, as did @Stevo7682, nothing had changed from before despite all the scary stories of garages holding cars to ransom.
