Anyone guess what I made this tool for.
It can be used on BMW models other than the Z3, but I made it specifically for use on my Z.
It is made from 5mm x 25mm x 150mm mild stell.
It would work equally well if it was 3 or 4 mm thick metal too. Anything less might be a problem.
The gap in the ends are 5mm wide x 30mm long, but the length is okay at 20mm.
I made them that long to ensure I didn't have any issues.
Overall length can be as little as 140mm...
The ends are bent at aprox 10 - 12 degrees and the bend is 55mm from the center - so 110mm between the two bends.
The nut is a 16mm, but a 15 or 17 or 20 will be good too.

Okay, so it's actually a type of spanner for a specific fitting. both slots engage in the item to loosen or tighten it...

At least your mind was in the right place....... Yes, a screwdriver and hammer will work, but it does damage. Also, after replacing the sender ceramic card and using the hammer method, I ended up breaking the new card and had to replace it again, At 25.00 excl postage, that's a stupid waste. The spanner cost nothing except a little time and effort.
