South Shields? You were lucky. We used to go to Roker Beach and sit in that little cafe drinking horlics. If we were lucky we'd go to Seaton Carew instead. At least Seaton Carew had a few shops and those penny arcades. At Roker you couldn't even get a stick of rock.
